Vivian Maier Photographs news
I have told her story for a while now and linked to the site where the guy found her photographs… turns out he is not the only collector, another guy has around 12,000 more photos - some can be seen here. Also here is a recent article from Chicago Magazine and there is a show at the Chicago Cultural Center that opens January 8th and runs until April 3rd. If you are in Chicago and like this...

Rachel Maddow tonight did a great job of wrapping up an exceptional day in politics - start with this clip and watch the entire show. Tonight she had three of my favorite guests: Paul Krugman, Melissa Harris-Perry and Richard Engel conclude a special week of shows from the 92nd street YMCA. Don’t miss the ring story with Lt. Choi and Harry Reid, it was amazing.

Vendor: We didn't install this door, I've never seen one like this.
Me: Ummm... so did you break in and put the "if you need service call" sticker here in the corner?

Year end apps and software roundup
As we end the year I thought I’d list the apps and such that I use daily. For backup (this is also my reminder to have multiple backups) I like Backblaze - $5/month for great peace of mind. Evernote is a digital notebook for Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone or even web browser, you can have synced recipes, wines you enjoy, cheeses, packing lists, repair records (free and premium version available)....
