FCC involved in things it shouldn't be, again
I want the FCC the make sure my cel phone company does not drop calls, that when I turn on Channel 4 on my TV I get Channel 4. I want the Supreme Court to worry about important laws being broken and rights being trampled. But no, these two bodies are worried that kids might hear a bad word on TV. The Supreme Court wrote 69 pages on the subject… insanity.

"Do not destroy those tapes" →
The LA Times has a great story about the woman who spoke those words and began a misson to preserve images from NASA in the 60’s that were on an old data tape format.
Read the article and also think about your backup and data future-proofing needs. It has been a few months since my last backup rant. My new favorite off site backup company is Backblaze… $5/month per computer. They...

Birdhouse - iPhone app for twitter →
All of the twitter iPhone aps I have tested are designed like twitter, have a thought, tweet it. I have often wanted a drafts like area where you could store shells of ideas for tweets, and publish when the thought is complete. That is the idea behind Birdhouse developed by a friend I worked with.
