Last album we bought in 2007
Heard Ray Davies on Sirius talking about his album “Working Man’s Cafe” so we bought on iPhone via iTunes on wifi while sitting in a pizza place. Technology rules! And I really like the album.
Touchdown jesus
Google “touchdown Jesus” - a friend just called and when i asked where she was she had just passed it.
Drove by the highway sign for the Creation Museum last night (not on purpose) and there was a cop with lights a-flashing on the side of the road. My fear that he was pulling over non-believers was quickly put to rest when we sailed past. The best review of the museum ever can be found here.

Family adoption as indicator of iPhone sales
It’s Dec 23 and three people in my family have already gotten new iPhones… adoption rate much faster than my family reference for iPods, or most other tech toys.

– joint statement by John Stewart and Steven Colbert
So how come the media is not making an issue of the fact that Jamie Lynn Spears is 16 and the baby daddy is 19… isn’t that illegal? (UPDATE: Well now they are reporting on this) Also the phrase “long time boyfriend” keeps being used, yet in a Thanksgiving interview her mom was asked and said that Jamie Lynn was not seeing anyone. Wish for 2008… they all go away....

Healthcare and Insurance
I have a friend who has a friend whose appendix burst over Thanksgiving. Because she had no health insurance she toughed it out until she could stand it no more… she has been in the hospital since and is still in the hospital today recovering from surgery that was required to fix the damage. There is a report out today that links health insurance status with cancer care because people...

I had no desire to see The Golden Compass but the Vatican and catholic league have gone and come out against it. They called it ”the most anti-Christmas film possible” and are even calling for a boycott. Well, now I have to see it.

Limes
In case you were wondering… about 15 limes makes 2 cups of fresh lime juice. If you are reading this blog you know there is only one reason I’d need lime juice, and we bought 60 limes. Laissez les bon temps roules!

Hairspray
Why John Travolta? Every frame he was in took me out of the movie. On broadway the role has been played by Harvey Fierstein, Michael McKean, Bruce Villanch, George Wendt and others…. any of which would have been so much better! But the rest of the movie was great!

I am not much of a sports fan but wouldn’t the right thing to do be to remove all the records from the record books for anyone confirmed as involved? Pete Rose seems a lot better now doesn’t he?

Apple has sneaky geniuses
Apple has been taking heat for not allowing users to create their own ringtones for the iPhone. Even things like your kids voice that would violate no copyrights have not been sanctioned or easy to do. Yesterday a Garageband update came out via software update. No real explanation of what was new (not unusual). Well, this update adds an export ringtone to iTunes option! Makes sense - they...
Boston Legal
We don’t watch Boston Legal regularly but will be looking for re-runs during the writers strike. The episode we caught last titled “No Brains Left Behind” was amazing. Funny but with hard core satire of political and social issues. Not sure if satire is the right word, just extremely clever.

Strike gets ugly
We knew the networks would clobber us with reality shows when the strike ran longer than the supply of shows. Page Six reports that there is a bidding war for a new show featuring George Hamilton called “Don’t Mind if I Do”. ”The show has George betting $2 million that he can go anywhere in the world, traveling and partying without spending a penny,” said one...
